By Lawrence Plaskett
A book review of a work that studies cancer seriously and fully.
He designed it for the Trust and they gave it the name gave it the name “The Plaskett Therapy”. This programme includes many foods and nutrients that are known to have an anti-cancer effect according to research published in reputable scientific and medical journals. The author, a medical research scientist with long knowledge and experience of nutritional medicine, put them together on the basis of published research information. This account specifically avoids making any claim on the part of the author to treat or to cure cancer. It offers information but definitely does not constitute medical advice for any individual cancer sufferer.
The distinct hope is there that this may proceed to the point where the cancerous process is reversed. Observation of those who have used the therapy indicates that this may occur with sufficient frequency to justify real therapeutic interest. Indeed, the author is writing this because of his seriously held opinion that a great many cases of cancer, even cases that are terminal under orthodox medicine, can be reversed with the use of this therapy.
The Therapy consists of a whole programme of measures and the food is precisely prescribed for the patient. This is a whole diet of foods with known anticancer properties. It is the entire diet and it is never modified apart from substitution with other anti-cancer foods. The juices are an essential help, with juices of apple and carrot, orange, or green leaf juice being made and then drunk fresh several times per day. The coffee enemas are an essential measure. These are made up and used from a stock solution of the coffee several times per day. The supplements are given with intent to fill all significant deficiencies that may be present in the diet, but more than that, because they will serve to provide optimal nutrition in all things. There is such a range of supplements that these provide more than adequate nutrition and provide real benefit.
This book provides a write-up of the need, painting the picture of cancer, as it is in our society and what is currently done about it. The surgical intervention can only be well intentioned, but the result is often the gradual hacking away of vital organs and reduction to a state of inadequacy. It then provides the introduction to the desired programme of supplements in a form of an analysis of them, and a statement of the evidence attributable to each one. From this it is possible to present the whole diet and the whole programme of the cancer sufferer, building the entire prescription from scratch.
This therapy is largely based upon known facts. It has an aggressive outlook on evidence, going thought all the measures within the older therapies, rejecting those that are not properly known and ushering in that which is known from recent research. The effects of all the measures upon the body are translated into a complete account of just how this therapy works and how it affects the cancer, with non-specific immune action a major factor.
In short, the book provides a very close review of all aspects of the story, so far as nutritional medicine is concerned. The results, the Trust found, were to reverse that cancer in 57% of the cases taken on. Of course, the cases taken on were all of them 100% terminal, so that was a great acclamation for their approach. Some of the cancer cases disappeared from view by moving away, so it is possible the there was still a higher success rate than this.
